JUST IN: Arsonists torch Rivers Assembly, perhaps over alleged plot to impeach Gov. Fubara

RIVERS State House of Assembly (RSHA) was last night October 29, 2023 set on fire supposedly by political thugs.
It it is alleged in a post that has gone viral that, that may be in connection with alleged moves to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and leader of the house, Edison Ehie.
There is no official reaction yet and, of course, nobody has claimed responsibility.
The virtual post claims that some thugs in a white Hilux van invaded the assembly complex at about 9.00p.m., Sunday night and disarmed security personnel on duty before allegedly carrying out the act.
Rivers State House of Assembly complex is opposite the headquarters of the state police command, on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
It is alleged that the lawmakers had concluded plans to impeach Fubara and Ehie today October 30, 2023 at its resumed sitting.
As of this morning, over 17 security trucks and four Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and federal security personnel numbering perhaps 50 or, have been stationed at the facility.
There are rumors that there is a rift between the governor and his predecessor Nyesom Wike, who is now FCT minister.
