Imo Gov. Boosts Internal Security with #655m Monthly Grants To Grassroots

TRADITIONAL rulers and others in Imo state cheered loudly at the week-end when Gov. Hope Uzodinma announced a new internal security architecture for the state.
Henceforth, it is a tripartite synergy based at the very Grassroots that would be deployed to checkmate hoodlums often loosely tagged "unknown gunmen."
Gov. Uzodinma told a gathering of all 655 autonomous community traditional rulers, presidents-general (P-Gs), and youth presidents across the state that they are now in the drivers' seats

In the new regimen, each set of the trio of monarch, P-G, and youth leader in all 655 communities across the 27 LGAs would be granted #1million monthly henceforth to tackle insecurity at the base.
Uzodinma said at the meet, “we cannot have peace and security in the state if there is no security in the basic communities. So monarchs, P-Gs, youth leaders, secure your areas and the whole is completely safe.”
At the meet before the compere called reps of all three senatorial zones in the state to speak, the governor said:” This is not politics, it is about our state and our people’s security, safety and peace of mind. “
